About BLIS K12

Blis K12 is a probiotic and the first developed specifically to maintain oral health. When one mentions bacteria, you might automatically think of diseases and illness. But some bacteria are actually good for your health! Probiotics are bacteria that are good for your health and Blis K12 is packed full of probiotics!

Blis K12 is actually a safe and powerful strain of a probiotic called Streptococcus salivarius. This probiotic S. salivarius naturally occurs in the mouth and the throat, although around 2% of the human population possess more potent strains like Blis K12. Studies have proven that these people have better mouth and throat health.

The probiotic S. salivarius was discovered by a renowned microbiologist named John Togg. When he was 12, John Togg suffered from a throat health problem. Because of this, he sought to find an all-natural alternative solution to better ear, nose, and throat health later on. He became a professor at the University of Otago in New Zealand, where he analyzed the saliva samples of school children for many years.

He and his team eventually found a healthy child, who exhibited remarkable throat health. From this child, they isolated a unique strain of S. salivarius (K12). They began working on developing this strain and it was from this strain that the next generation of advanced probiotics evolved. Unlike other probiotics, Blis K12 is shelf stable. Today, Blis K12 is available in different forms like chewable tablets, lozenges, chewing gum, and stick-pack powders.

What are the benefits of BLIS K12 products?

Blis K12 is a natural solution to maintaining the health of the nose, the mouth, and the throat. These probiotics can combat the growth, build-up, and reproduction of bacteria in the mouth. You might not realize it, but the bacteria in your mouth are responsible for a number of oral health conditions. These bacteria cause problems like tooth decay, dry mouth symptoms, and gum diseases. These bacteria also cause halitosis or the embarrassing condition of bad breath.

The build-up of bacteria can cause periodontal diseases such as periodontitis and gingivitis. These conditions are inflammatory problems that come with symptoms like bleeding and gun inflammation. Probiotics can prevent these conditions, as well as tooth decay and dental cavities.

Not only do probiotics reduce the amount of bacteria, but probiotics also create a film that acts as a protective lining for the oral tissues. This protective lining wards off diseases and limits the space where the bad bacteria can grow into. Furthermore, probiotics restores a healthy balance to the environment of the mouth.
