MitoQ is a breakthrough supplement range supporting the optimal functions of the body’s organ systems. Patented by the Antipodean Pharmaceuticals, this anti aging supplement incorporates strong-acting antioxidants that deliver protection to the mitochondria, the cell component producing energy. MitoQ ensures that each supplement provides antioxidant protection for delaying aging and reenergizing the body for your good overall health.

According to studies published in Elsevier, the MitoQ clinical trials have shown improvement in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disorder causing motor neuron degeneration. In ALS, oxidative stress severely affects the brain, resulting to paralysis and eventually, death. MitoQ antioxidant improves the chances of surviving by slowing down the onset of ALS symptoms. This treatment also reduces the damage inflicted into the nervous system, especially the spinal cord.

The name MitoQ is inspired from the mitochondria targeted antioxidant sourced from coenzyme Q (ubiquinone). Coenzyme Q, found in the mitochondria, is responsible for energy production involved in Adenosine Triposphate (ATP) and cellular respiration. A phosphonium group is added to the coenzyme Q quinine, increasing the bioavailability of MitoQ, the end product.

In effect, MitoQ supplement has both antioxidant and anti-apoptotic properties. This is beneficial for inflammatory diseases, such as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) since it lowers levels of cytokines. IBD includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

MitoQ easily passes through the cell membrane and into the mitochondria. There, it shields cells from oxidative damage. Moreover, this supplement offers a great potential to correct oxidative stress imbalance and assist in proper mitochondrial functions.
