Semi Permanent Colour
Tints of Nature Semi-Permanent Colour is a highly effective conditioning hair colour. It’s free from ammonia, PPDs, parabens, peroxide and resorcinol, thus helping to ensure damage-free results. Certified organic wheat protein conditions your hair during the colouring process. Tints of Nature Semi-permanents are:
• True semi-permanent shades.
• 100% free from PPDs and PTDs (Paraphenylenediamines and Paratoluenediamines – pigments)..
• 100% free from Ethoxydiglycol, parabens and peroxide.
• long-lasting - colour will last between 6 and 12 washes.
• Made with up to 60% certified organic ingredients (see Ingredients page) plus natural wheat proteins to strengthen the hair.
• Easy to apply cream that conditions as it colours.
• Will cover up to 80% grey hair.
Tints of Nature Semi-Permanent Colour is not designed to give 100% grey coverage, but can cover up to 80% of grey hair. Maximise the coverage by applying gentle heat from a hairdryer for the first 10-15 minutes of the 30 minute development time.
Previously Lightened hair
Our Semi-Permanent Colour range is primarily designed for use on natural hair and is not recommended for use on hair that has been previously lightened more than one shade. If you have previously used a peroxide colour which has not lightened your hair, it is normally safe to use Tints of Nature Semi-Permanent Colour. However, as a precaution, remember to carry out the strand test prior to colouring.
For dry, coloured, damaged or permed hair - this type of hair is more likely to accept colour and may go darker than anticipated. We suggest that you apply Tints of Nature Semi-Permanent Colour initially to the natural, unaffected areas, leave for 20 minutes, and then apply to your remaining hair for only the last 10 minutes.
The Tints of Nature colours can be mixed together to create your own shades. Always consider your skin tone, the colour of your eyes, as well as the predominant colours in your wardrobe before choosing your new hair colour.
Simply mix two or more colour together to create a new shade. We cannot guarantee any results. Our experts are on hand to give you advice. Please contact us if you need help.
Always carry out the skin and strand test even if you have used this product before. Check that your pack contains all of the items listed on the side of the box and read the full instructions included in the box.
If you have grey hairs which are resistant to colour, try shampooing and use treatment on the hair before colouring. Firstly apply Tints of Nature Shampoo, rinse, apply Tints of Nature Reconstructing Treatment, comb and leave for 15 minutes, rinse, towel dry and then apply the colour as usual. The shampoo and treatment will help to soften the hair and open the outer layer of the hair (the cuticle). Note, do not use conditioner before colouring.
Another tip for colouring resistant grey hair is to cover the hair with a plastic bag and apply gentle heat all over the colour for approximately the first ten minutes of the development time. Please make sure the hairdryer is set on low – medium heat only. Then allow the colour to develop without heat for the remainder of the development time.
Counteracting red tones in hair:
Ash shades are ideal to counteract red tones in hair. You can mix either Medium Ash Brown (4C), Dark Ash Blonde (6C) or Ash Blonde (8C) with the natural tones.
Protecting hair which is not being coloured:
If you are only colouring a section of your hair and are worried about getting the colour on the rest of your hair, simply cover it with conditioner. This will prevent any colour penetrating into the hair and will leave your hair soft and manageable.
To remove build-up from two-in-one shampoos:
Shampoo the hair twice using a basic shampoo and then using a sponge, work vodka through the hair and leave for five minutes. Rinse and shampoo twice with Tints of Nature Shampoo.
The Tints of Nature colours can be mixed together to create your own shades. Always consider your skin tone, the colour of your eyes, as well as the predominant colours in your wardrobe before choosing your new hair colour. Here are a few handy hints to get you started:
1. If you are mixing two colours with different base numbers together, you will usually end up with a base shade somewhere in the middle, for example, if you mix together 3N and 5N, you will achieve a 4N.
2. The ash shades (4C, 6C and 8C) are ideal for counteracting red tones.
3. Remember to measure colours accurately for the best result.
