Gamma Hydroxy is the third generation of resurfacing technology. It is a synergistic combination of alpha-hydroxy acid (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), making it a very powerful, multi-action, one-step skin resurfacing solution.
Powerful skin resurfacing and skin renewal can help with the appearance of -Wrinkles Skin pigmentation Acne, blackheads, and whiteheads Dull weathered skin Dry or oily skin Ingrown hairs Enlarged, open pores
Glycolic acid belongs to a class of AHAs commonly known as 'fruit acids'. It occurs naturally in sugar cane. It is considered to be a most effective AHA because it has a small molecular structure and so it can penetrate the surface of the skin more readily.
Lactic acid is naturally derived from sour milk and grain, and is often synthetically derived by converting malic acid (from apples). Its benefits to the skin have been well documented for centuries - even Cleopatra's beautiful skin is attributed to her infamous milk baths.
Both glycolic and lactic acids work by loosening or breaking up the thick outer layer of skin. And through this microscopic exfoliation activity they smooth the skin's texture problems including acne, fine wrinkles, pigmentation, and skin depressions. They also have the fantastic faculty of kick-starting your skin into its natural regeneration, stimulating collagen and skin growth.
Salicylic acid (BHAs) can be a little milder than AHAs because they don?t penetrate the dermis. But this doesn't mean they are less potent. In fact, while BHAs essentially work the same as AHAs, they have certain talents that AHAs don't have. Salicylic acid encourages the sloughing of dead skin cells as AHAs do, but it also has the ability to penetrate into the pore, while AHAs do not. This advantage makes it very effective for improving blemishes, by breaking down blackheads and whiteheads, and easing clogged pores.

How does Gamma Hydroxy work?
Many skin problems are associated with 'hyperkeratinisation', or the accumulation of excess dead cells on the surface of the skin. This can contribute to the dull, course, rough, blotchy, and dry appearance of aging skin. Gamma Hydroxy is a proprietary blend of glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acid that function together for the ultimate in skin renewal resurfacing. By applying this blend to the skin the forceful actions of both AHAs and BHAs go to work to loosen the 'cement' that binds the dead skin in stratum corneum (a keratolytic action), allowing faster shedding of this layer. Through doing this the Gamma Hydroxy moisturises, exfoliates, and stimulates the skin, thereby reducing pore size (even on oily skin), improving skin texture and colour, and revealing the younger, healthier skin below.
How long before I will experience results?
You should start enjoying a more youthful glowing, dewy looking complexion within just days of using Gamma Hydroxy. An improvement in the appearance of wrinkle depth, acne-scarring and hyperpigmented areas may take 3-6 weeks. Within 12 weeks you should have an all round effect and enjoy skin that is visibly firmer, smoother, and healthier looking.
Will skin resurfacing with Gamma Hydroxy help with the appearance of deeper wrinkles?
Similar formulas to Gamma Hydroxy have been used for years by professional dermatologists as a method of improving the appearance of deep, pitted acne-scarring. Just imagine! If Gamma Hydroxy can help to improve the appearance of dents caused by acne scarring wrinkles should be easy!
Is Gamma Hydroxy safe to use daily?
Gamma Hydroxy acid is applied to the skin as an emulsion. It is gentle, which means that you can apply it to your face and hands as a daily treatment. Initially, some people may experience slight stinging and redness after application. This will decrease gradually over a few weeks. It is not the case that 'a little is good so a lot must be better', as you can aggravate the skin. If irritation develops, the cream should be ceased until it clears. It can then be reintroduced more gradually. Applying a moisturiser over Gamma Hydroxy can help. Be careful not to apply too much cream around the corners of the eyes, and the mouth, or around the nostril area, as it can cause a burning sensation.
Will resurfacing my skin with Gamma Hydroxy cause my skin to flake?
Some people with sensitive skin may experience slight flaking or redness of the skin now and again. However this is a positive thing as it means that the dull, dry skin is making way to reveal your new rejuvenated skin. A moisturiser can be applied to assuage the peeling, and if it is excessive, then applying the cream less often can work.
