Made from the husk of natural psyllium seed, Metamucil works in the same way as high fibre foods. If provides the bulk to digested food which helps to move it through the digestive tract at a normal rate. An adequate intake everyday helps promote a healthy digestive system.
Adults 12yrs+: to supplement daily fibre intake 2 - 6 capsules. To help restore and maintain regularity 6 capsules. Doses can be taken 1-3 times daily. Take with at least 250ml of liquid (swallow one capsule at a time) This product is not recommended for children under 12 years.
Each capsule has 525mg of psyllium husk powder.
Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause to swell and block your throat or oesophagus and may cause choking. Take two hours before or after ingesting any medication to minimize any effect on drug absorption. Before using this product, consult a doctor if you have a sudden change in bowel habits persisting for 2 weeks, or have abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or rectal bleeding. May cause allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium. If constipation persists beyond 7 days, consult a doctor.
