Can be taken anytime, but most will find it convenient to take around 20 minutes before a meal. Add 1 heaped teaspoon of powder (5g) to half a glass of water or diluted fruit juice. Mix well and drink immediately. Follow this up with a further half glass of liquid of your choosing. This can be taken twice daily if required. Young children should be properly supervised as the blend expands when mixed with water. Remember to drink at least one glass of water of fruit juice for every heaped teaspoon of powder. Can also be mixed with cereals, milk shakes, or yogurts, however it is important that the required levels of liquids are taken.

Lifestream BowelBiotics for Kids contains a specific, unique blend of soluble and insoluble fibres which help to form a soft gel in the digestive system. The oat bran concentrate in Lifestream BowelBiotics for Kids contains oat beta-glucans which are the soluble fibre component of oats.

The oat bran concentrate used in Lifestream BowelBiotics for Kids is obtained from Scandinavia where the long hours of daylight during the harvest season help to produce oat cereals with naturally high levels of oat beta-glucans. Other natural fibres included in Lifestream BowelBiotics for Kids are natural gums; acacia gum, xanthan gum and guar gum. Psyllium husks are included as they provide a good source of both soluble and insoluble fibre.

Prebiotics
Lifestream BowelBiotics for Kids contains inulin which are naturally occurring oligosaccharides produced by many types of plants. Inulin is a highly effective prebiotic helping to stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. Inulin is also an additional source of soluble fibre. It has been shown that prebiotics added to a balanced healthy diet can increase the number of friendly bacteria in the colon, while simultaneously helping to reduce the population of unfriendly bacteria. The soluble fibre acacia gum also has prebiotic properties.

Probiotics
