For the relief of constipation in infants. Should be administered in the feeding bottle or in fruit juice.
Children:Under 6 months - 10 drops three times daily
6-18 months - 15 drops three times daily
18 months-3 years - 25 drops three times daily
Over 3 years - use coloxyl tabs 50mg.
6-18 months - 15 drops three times daily
18 months-3 years - 25 drops three times daily
Over 3 years - use coloxyl tabs 50mg.
Poloxamer 10%
Avoid prolonged use - may lead to diarrhoea and abdominal pain. Give plenty of water and fibre in the diet. Proper diagnosis should be sought before use of a laxative in the young. May initially cause abdominal pain.
