Dosage
Adults and children over 12 years: squeeze a4-10cm of gel onto the affected area then replace the cap. (This represents a dose of 50-125mg of ibuprofen)
Gently rub the gel until it is absorbed-then wash your hands.
Do not reapply more gel within 4 hoursDo not apply it more than 3 to 4 times in 24 hoursDo not use it on broken skin, on the lips or near the eyes.Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin
Purpose/Usage
Nurofen Gel is a gel for rubbing into the skin and contains a substance called Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is one of a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics (NSAI). Nurofen Gel is used to relieve pain and reduce swelling in a number of conditions affecting the joints and muscles. Nurofen Gel works particularly well on inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints due to trauma (e.g. sports injuries, sprains, strains and bruises), soft tissue rheumatism and localized rheumatic conditions, e.g. bursitis. For aches and pains, back, neck and shoulder pain.
Precautions
Nurofen Gel is for exterior application only and NOT to be taken orally. Do NOT apply Nurofen Gel to cuts or open wounds or any other area where the skin is abnormal. After applying the gel do NOT cover with bandages or sticking plaster. Do NOT get Nurofen Gel into your eyes. If this occurs wash your eyes out with clean water and seek immediate medical advice. If your symptoms do NOT improve within 2 weeks or they get worse seek immediate medical advice. Wash your hands directly after application (unless this is the intended site to be treated).
