Purpose/Usage
Nature's Way Ginkgo is a technically and scientifically advanced herbal extract of Ginkgo biloba standardised to 24% ginkgo flavone glycosides and 6% terpene lactones, supported by whole gotu kola herb. Clinical studies on Gingko biloba extract show that it supports circulation to the brain as well as the extremities. Maintaining good circulation, and therefore oxygen and nutrient supply, to the brain helps the body maintain brain tissue vitality which translates into healthy mental sharpness, clarity and memory. Additionally, Ginkgo biloba is a proven free radical scavenger and antioxidant. Gotu kola is a stimulating, rejuvenating tonic that supports nervous system and brain health and function.
Precautions
Due to the anti-platelet activity of ginkgo, people taking blood thinners or anti-platelet medications such as Heparin or Warfarin should use ginkgo products with caution. In the interest of preventing any possibility of an adverse outcome during or after surgery being associated to the use of ginkgo, we recommend that supplementation with ginkgo is stopped 3 days before surgery. Caution is advised in taking ginkgo concurrently with anticonvulsant medications (e.g. Epilim). Always ask your product supplier or health professional if there are any specific precautions regarding your use of this or any supplement.
