Purpose/Usage
Nutra-Life Cold and Flu Fighter is a high potency herbal formulation combining the proven benefits of the Ayurvedic herb Andrographis (also known as Creat), with the soothing anti-inflammatory expectorant and mucous reducing properties of Echinacea purpurea.
This formulation also contains Vitamin C, an important antioxidant to help counter free radical scavangers. Free radicals may be generated either metabolically or present as environmental pollutants.
Special benefits
Andrographis Andrographis paninculata
Studies on Andrographis paniculata have shown that the active principle, Andrographolide A exhibits immunostimulating activity and also has an effect on reducing the symptoms of the common cold. Evaluation shown from a randomised double blind - placebo controlled study.1
In one three month long, double blind placebo controlled study, involving 107 eighteen year old students, results indicated that Standardised Andrographis reduces the risk of catching a cold by a factor of two as compared to a placebo.1
Echinacea Echinacea purpurea
Echinacea purpurea has been shown to have immunostimulation properties and is well tolerated over long term administration, particularly in upper respiratory infections.
VITAMIN C
Calcium Ascorbate is a non-acidic for of Vitamin C suitable for those with sensitive stomachs.
Vitamin C is intricately involved with other antioxidants especially Selenium. Twenty double blind studies since 1970 have shown that Vitamin C decreases the duration and severity of symptoms of the common cold. The combination of Vitamin C and Echinacea has also demonstrated to decrease the symptoms of the common cold.3
