Dosage
Cataflam should be taken according to the following instructions:
Adults all indications except for migraine: Initially take 2 tablets, then if necessary, take 1 or 2 tablets every 8 hours.
Migraine: initially take 2 tablets, then if necessary take a further 1 or 2 tablets after 2 hours. Do not exceed 6 tablets per day in either case.
Children over 14 years of age: Initially take 1 tablet then if necessary, take 1 tablet every 8 hours.
Children 14 years and under: The tablets are not of a suitable strength to be given to children 14 years and under.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid. To ensure that they act quickly they should preferably be taken before meals.

Purpose/Usage
Diclofenac relieves pain, reduces inflammation and lowers temperature in infections of the ear, nose and throat.For the short-term treatment of acute painful and inflammatory conditions including sprains, back pain, neck pain, migraine headaches, period-pain and post-operative pain.Cataflam is also effective in severe, painful inflammatory infections of the ear, nose or throat. In these conditions, however, you should consult your doctor as the underlying infection should also be treated.
Precautions
Elderly: Elderly people may be more sensitive to the effects of cataflam than other adults and should use the lowest effective dose for their condition. It is especially important for elderly patient?s to report any unwanted effects promptly to their doctor or pharmacist.Do Not Take Cataflam if:
You suffer from a stomach ulcer
You have ever had an allergic reaction or asthma attack after taking diclofenac or any other anti-inflammatory medicine such as aspirin.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking cataflam if:
You have had any disease of the stomach or intestine or have experienced stomach discomfort or had heartburn after taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines in the past.
You suffer from asthma
You suffer from Heart, liver, or kidney disease
You have high blood pressure
You have a bleeding disorder, or other blood disorders.
You are pregnant or breast-feeding
The effects of some other medicines may be modified by Cataflam. You should consult with your pharmacist or doctor before taking other medicines in addition to Cataflam.
Adverse Effects
Usually this medicine does not cause problems, it can, however cause unwanted side-effects in some people.
Stop taking Cataflam and consult your doctor immediately if you develop one or more of the following symptoms:
Gastric symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or pain in the upper region of the abdomen
Black-coloured stools
Skin rash
Asthma attacks
Swelling of the face, feet or legs
Yellowing of the skin or eyes
persistent sore throat or high temperature.Also tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any other effects that could be caused by Cataflam.If you feel dizzy or light headed or find that your sight is affected, you should not drive a vehicle or operate machinery. You should stop using cataflam and you must see your doctor before starting on cataflam again.
