This product contains d alpha tocopherol acetate, a natural vitamin E sourced from soya bean oil, which is of European origin.
This form of vitamin E is an acetate derivative (an ester form which is stable to oxidation), and is the only isomer of alpha tocopherol found in nature. D alpha tocopherol has the highest biopotency of all the isomer forms of vitamin E and is recognised to have 36% greater biological activity than its synthetic counterpart D alpha tocopherol.

Purpose/Usage
* Antioxidant protection against cardiovascular disease and diabetes
* Anti-inflammatory and protective against arthritis

Precautions
* Vitamin E thins the blood, for this reason supplementation of Vitamin E should be ceased 1 month prior to surgery
* Vitamin E should not be taken by those taking anti-coagulant medication as it may enhance its effect
* Extra caution should be exercised in those with diabetes, hypoglycaemia, hypertension and heart disease when taking Vitamin
Adverse Effects
* Intakes above 1,500mg per day may be immuno-suppressive and increase the fragility of red blood cells.
* High dose may transiently elevate blood pressure. To reduce the possibility of raising blood pressure, when supplementing a hypertensives diet with Vitamin E use the following guidelines :
* Check blood pressure - record
* Week 1 - take 100mg daily
* At end of week check blood pressure, record. If blood pressure is not elevated further increase dosage as follows.
* Week 2 - take 200mg daily.
* Record blood pressure at end of week. If satisfactory, increase dosage to 300mg per day.
* Continue in this way until 500mg has been reached. Maintain dosage at 500mg. E, lower doses are necessary in these cases
