Purpose/Usage
For use as a local anaesthetic.
Precautions
EMLA should not be applied to open wounds. When applied in the vicinity of the eyes, EMLA should be used with particular care since it causes corneal irritation. EMLA patches have been used without disturbances to the reproductive process in pregnant and lactating women. EMLA patches are contraindicated in patients with congenital or idiopathic methaemoglobinaemia or known hypersensitivity to local anaesthetics
