Dosage For children of average weight the recommended oral dosage 6-8 hourly is:
1-3months 0.75 to 1.0ml
3-6months 1.0 to 1.25ml
6-12 months 1.25 to 1.5ml
1-2 years 1.5 to 2.0ml
2 to 4 years 2.0 to 2.5ml
4 to 6 years 2.5 to 3.0ml.
To dose according to weight administer by mouth 0.15ml per kilogram of body weight per dose every 6-8 hours.
Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24 hour period.
Ingredients Each 1ml of oral liquid contains:
Brompheniramine Maleate 0.8mg,
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 1.0mg.
Purpose/Usage
Dimetapp Infant Drops relieve nasal and sinus congestion due to the common cold and allergies such as hayfever.
This formulation has been developed specifically for infants under 2 years. It contains a decongestant to relieve blocked and runny noses and an antihistamine to relieve itchy, watery eyes and sneezing.
Dimetapp Infant Drops are pleasant tasting and sugar free.
Precautions
This medication may cause drowsiness.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
Do not give this product to a child who has heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease or diabetes unless directed by a physician.
If symptoms persist for more than 48 hours or are accompanied by a high fever, a doctor should be consulted.
