Dosage
Dose rates such as Lyprinol vary from person to person.
As a general guide it is recommended that 4 capsules per day be taken before meals, 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Many people experience beneficial effects within a few days, but some people find it takes several weeks before they experience these benefits. This is an individual thing.
Once you have achieved maximum benefit you may be able to reduce your dose rate to a maintenance level of two, and in some cases only one capsule per day.
Ingredients
Natural mono-unsaturated Olive oil-100mg
Lyprinol GLM pat.lipids ( Eicosatetraenoic acid )-50mg
Vitamin E ( d-alpha-Tocepherol) as the antioxidant-0.225mg
Purpose/Usage
Lyprinol is a marine oil consisting of 6 main lipid groups and a unique grouping of rare omega 3 fatty acids found only in the New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel.
Freeze-dried concentrated and encapsulated mussel tissue in it's raw state was used originally as a natural food supplement for the prevention of pain normally associated with older individuals experiencing joint and muscle discomfort.
The most current research is now demonstrating a whole new group of related, but different PUFA's. Over twenty years of research has produced a better understanding of ETA (ecosatetraenoic acid). ETA is a 20:4, a twenty carbon molecule with four double bonds. These newly found and isolated compounds have the greatest biological activity of all and show amazing promise for those who need to supplement with them.
The most valuable ETA's have been extracted from the New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel, Perna canaliculus. This unique mussel has been used as food for many years in that part of the world and seems to have added greatly to the health of those including it in their diet. One noticeable trait is that they seem to have a significant decrease in stiffness and joint swelling and discomfort as they age. This led researchers to try to understand why this was so. Scientists have been conducting research on the New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel now for over thirty years and have been learning some very important facts. It is acknowledged by many scientists and government committees around the world that the western diet provides more Omega 6 PUFA's relative to Omega 3's. This leads to our cellular membranes becoming rich in the Omega 6's such as arachidonic acid, which is a precursor to certain molecules that can cause inflammatory processes associated with arthritis, psoriasis and asthma to name a few. Many studies have reported that certain lipids from fish and other marine sources can have a beneficial effect on our overall health when they are a part of the diet on a rotine basis.
When Lyprinol was compared to other well-known anti-inflammatory substances Lyprinol was shown to be:
200 times more potent than Max EPA
250 times more potent than the original Green Mussel Extract.
350 more potent than Evening primrose Oil.
400 times more potent than flax oil.
Adverse Effects
Lyprinol has been clinically trailed in a number of countries around the world. It has been available to the public for 3 years and the only reported side effect from the clinical studies was one case of nausea.
When taken at the recommended dose rates Lyprinol appears to be remarkably free of side effects.
What are the advantages of Lyprinol over mussel powder?
Mussel powders contain proteins, which can cause allergic reactions in some people. Since Lyprinol is an oil all the proteins have been removed
Mussel powders contain sea salt, which can be a problem for people needing to stay on a low salt diet. Lyprinol contains no sea salts
Because Lyprinol is a potent concentrate, the dose rate is far lower and the capsules are easier to take.
The unpleasant odours associated with encapsulated mussel powders have been removed.
Medicines have benefits and some may have risks. Always read the label
carefully and use strictly as directed. If symptoms continue or you have
side effects consult your pharmacist or doctor immediately.
