Purpose/Usage
Epilobium 1000 Plus is a high-potency herbal complex providing Epilobium with Saw Palmetto, which are specifically indicated and have a traditional use for men's prostate health.
Because of the importance of Zinc for men, and the fact that Australasian dietary surveys have shown many men do not receive even the recommended dietary intake, extra Zinc is included in this formula.

Epilobium herb has a specific use in genito-urinary conditions and is widely used in the treatment and prevention of prostate problems, particularly BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) - enlargement of the prostate.
Saw Palmetto Serenoa serrulata Fruit
Saw Palmetto Fruit (berries) were traditionally used by the American Indians in the treatment of genito urinary tract problems. Many herbalists also considered it to be an aphrodisiac.
The main clinical use of Saw Palmetto berries currently is in the treatment of BPH. The therapeutic effects of the Liposterolic (Fat and Sterol) component of the Saw Palmetto berries has been shown to significantly improve the signs and symptoms of enlarged prostate. This appears to be due to its inhibition of dihydrotestosterone, the testosterone variant that causes the prostate cells to multiply excessively. This inhibition of dihydrotestosterone occurs at its initial synthesis (from testosterone), as well as at the cellular binding sites, reducing the effects of dihydrotestosterone on the prostate gland.
