Purpose/Usage
Our digestive systems have a very subtle but important relationship with two types of naturally occurring organisms that inhabit the intestinal tract; they are anaerobic and aerobic bacteria.
Lactobacilli are common anaerobes that help to create and maintain a healthy gut, ensuring efficient digestion, assimilation and metabolism of foods as well as elimination of wastes from the body.
Stress, poor dietary and lifestyle habits, illness and the use of medications such as antibiotics, steroids and oral contraceptives easily destroy friendly bacteria. This results in an imbalance of intestinal bacteria, placing the odds in favour of aerobic or parasitic bacteria and yeasts such as Candida albicans. These putrefactive bacteria can cause a wide range of gastro-intestinal problems including abdominal cramps, bloating, flatulence, constipation and/or diarrhoea and chronic candidiasis.
Thompson?s Ultradophilus is a high potency freeze-dried formula containing not less than 1 billion lactobacillus acidophilus per capsule. Ultradophilus helps to restore normal intestinal balance and provides a favourable environment for the proliferation of friendly bacteria, thereby promoting natural resistance to gastro-intestinal infections.
Potent strains of lactobacillus acidophilus also work to produce digestive enzymes that synthesise many of the B-group vitamins including biotin, folic acid and B12. These B vitamins in turn increase the absorption efficiency of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and iron.
Ultradophilus is a hypoallergenic formulation providing a safe and easy way of taking an important strain of probiotic that helps to maintain a healthy and efficient digestive system. Ultradophilus is in a natural base of psyllium seed husks, a bulking and lubricating agent that increases peristaltic action, speeds up transit times of digestive waste and helps remove toxins and unused bile salts.
Ultradophilus contains high doses of lactobacillus acidophilus bacteria to relieve digestive discomfort including abdominal cramps, bloating, flatulence, constipation and/or diarrhoea. This formula is useful to relieve the symptoms of chronic candidiasis such as vaginal thrush, athlete?s foot and urinary tract infections. Ultradophilus may help in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections from a variety of pathogenic organisms such as giardia, salmonella, campylobacter and listeria.
